Katherine Henson is a creative professional with a deep passion for storytelling. As a seasoned writer and marketing strategist, she’s spent the last decade helping individuals, brands, and businesses articulate their voice and connect with their audiences through intentional content, visual storytelling, and strategic messaging.

With 10+ years of experience, her work spans social media marketing, blog and website writing, email newsletters, graphic design, photography, and strategic planning.

She is the manager at Stefari Coffee House and Stefari West Avenue in Kankakee, IL. Managing marketing, product development, websites, mixology, operations, and vendor relationships for both locations. Her hands-on work in these community hubs fuels her creativity and deepens her connection to local entrepreneurship.

Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice & Social Work and a Master of Arts in Urban Ministry from Olivet Nazarene University. Her academic journey began in communications, shifted to social services, and eventually came full circle - reigniting her love for writing and storytelling. She first stepped into marketing as a social media freelancer and content writer for LinkPoint Media during her undergraduate years, discovering a calling that blended creativity with purpose.

Over the years, Katherine has brought her skills to organizations such as Pathfinder, LinkPoint Media, Ravenspring Creative, Catalyst Business Services, Lead Like Jesus, Kankakee County Renewed Opportunity, the I-KAN ROE’s Pledge for Life Partnership, and ONU’s Walker School of Engineering, and the United Way of Kankakee & Iroquois Counties.

She also presents and speaks to classes and at conferences on topics that she is passionate about.

Katherine is also a published poet. In 2016, she released her debut collection, Wildflowers: The First Collection, a personal work that reflects her deep love for language. She’s currently working on a second collection and a coffee table book exploring community and coffee.

She lives in Illinois with her partner Dalton, their three children, and two dogs. When she’s not writing, photographing, or creating, you’ll find her reading, shooting 35mm film, enjoying fall adventures, or rewatching Harry Potter and The Office.
